Kinder Band practice is a fun Music & Movement program that brings parents and tots together in a fun, relaxed, musical environment.
40 mins of singing, dancing, movement and instrument play, students are exposed to a wide variety of musical genres, rhythms, tonalities and rhythm instruments. This developmentally appropriate, mixed-age program allows siblings to enjoy their first music classes together and are designed for infants through 4 year-olds, each with a parent or caregiver.
During the school year, this class will run for (3) 10-week lesson blocks beginning in October, January and April. **KINDER BAND PRACTICE REGISTRATION OPENS NOV.1 FOR WINTER SESSION
Cost is $225/ block (10-week session) and includes rhythm instrument and 10 fun classes.
(siblings under 10 months are free. $20 for each additional sibling above 10 months per block)
Sunrise is an exciting and innovative pre-school music program that brings learning through singing, rhythm and games. This specially developed music curriculum includes lots of songs and movement and incorporates listening activities. Children develop listening awareness, fine motor skills, social interaction, confidence and attention span while interacting with the Sunrise music friends Buddy Croak the Frog, Mellow Yellow the Dog, and Buzz the Fly...Add the Sunrise music story bears, and we have the makings of an exciting musical adventure.

Cost is $255/ block (10-week session) and includes workbook, Digital Download of all songs used in class, finger puppet, rhythm instrument, Sunrise backpack (first block only) and 10 lessons.
This beginners keyboard program is designed to introduce young children to music in a positive way. Students at this age benefit from contact with other children and parents in a class environment.
Sunshines learn the music alphabet from A-G, recognize patterns by ear and are able to play them on the keyboard. They learn listening skills and team participation. The program includes large muscle movements in beat and rhythm, as well as fine motor movements in rhythm instrument ensemble playing. Sunshines learn fun songs that help reinforce concepts, as well as enhance fine motor skills in individual fingers through games and finger play. By the end of the year, Sunshines are playing in C major and middle C positions and are reading from the staff. Fun pre-reading exercises -such as like and different sorting, looking for patterns with visual aids, gluing and colouring- are part of the program.
Regular keyboard practice is a required element of this program, but practices should be kept short (5-10 minutes a day) and fun!! Students will get to play in a recital at the end of the music year.
The Sunshine program runs for 34 weeks from September through to June.
Cost is $1035 for the year. Payments are to be made with post-dated cheques, dated the 1st of the month for 9 months (September - May) $115.00 each cheque.
There is a $245 registration fee (which includes registration, books, materials and taxes). Materials include 3 large Music Books, MYC canvas carrying bag, teaching aids (tin sheet & magnets, etc) and Homework/Activity Book.
Sunbeams is a fun, high-energy level that is interactive, enthusiastic and team building. This level incorporates games, singing, solfege, rhythm, ensembles, compositions, patterns and a variety of means to teach this well-rounded program. Keyboard geography is taught through introductions to the 'critters' and by the end of the course Sunbeams will know their C and G Major Scales and a minor, harmonized with bridges. The majority of learned staff notes are covered on both the treble and bass clefs by the end of the year.

Moonbeam students want 'quick results' and the songs, ensembles and keyboard repertoire are designed to support their growing sense of independence. These students learn quickly through means such as patterns, the circle of 5ths, signing, solfege, rhythm dictations, ensembles and composing.
Moonbeams learn the Major Scales of C, G, D and F as well as a and e minor. The patterns learned through harmonizing scales with chords allows students to begin transposing materials and composing their own music.
Regular keyboard practice is a required element of this program, approximately 20-30 minutes a day. Students will get to play in a recital at the end of the music year.

Music for Young Children® is an innovative, Canadian program that takes a hands-on approach to learning music. Designed specifically for the young beginner, a child of any age, from 3 years through to pre-teen, can join a class with children their own age, and learn to play and understand music. MYC combines proven music education theories and Early Childhood Education principals into one fantastic program.
